I've also found some useful samples (and loops) from The Loop Loft and others - many of their loop packages (if not all) contain the individual "hits" (samples) as well, but you'll have to build your kits in Reason from these samples (not as hard as it seems).įirst of all, I'm new here, so hi everyone! I'm a beginner and the idea of getting into music making popped into my head about two months ago. I also like some of the kits from Reason Drum Kits, but don't expect any "metal specific" kits to blow you away. There are some ReFills worth checking out including these from Ryan Green (not cheep, but sound great). The little bit of extra work is worth it IMO, since you'll end up (like a real drummer) creating your own personalized kits! And like a real drummer, if you're sticking mainly to one or two genres, you don't need 100 kits. And more commonly you'll need to stack a couple of kick or snare samples to create the sound you're looking for. You may find the perfect kick from one patch, the snare from another etc. Not sure there are many great rock/metal drums in Reason (but I'm checking to see if I've overlooked anything), In most cases you may need to build your own kits for this format, as Reason seems to focus more on other genres (getting better these days, I have to say).
